Hi,

I will be visiting from Australia next weekend for a couple of weeks and I would love to get out and discover the local punk/rock scene. From what I've seen so far it would seem the Shinjuku district is the place to go with venues like the Loft, Heavens Gate and fever but if anyone can recommend anywhere else or some bands to check out it would be appreciated. Preferably not too mainstream and cheap drinks haha.

Also how much is too much for hotel rooms in the area, I'm seeing about 9000 Yen for a basic single, is this reasonable.

Looking forward to hearing some local tips,

Cheers

Jason

Don't know if you'll still be around on 10/13, but we're putting on a free show (1 drink purchase required) at the Crawfish in Akasaka. t.co/y3Cxyty1

A good hangout is Gamuso in Asagaya. www.gamuso.com

Hope that helps,
HH

Earthdom in Shin-Okubu is a sure bet. Not far from Shinjuku.
