The legendary multi-instrumentalist Joe McPhee will appear at Pit Inn for the first time. With extraordinary techniques, brilliant sounds and an adventurous spirit, Joe McPhee has been fascinating hard-core fans as one of the most spiritual musicians in the free jazz history for a half century. He will come to Japan with the well-known genius drummer Paal Nilssen-Love, and will play with Atomic pianist Havard Wiik, noise magician Lasse Marhaug, and Tokyo-based musicians Akira Sakata and Jim O’Rourke. Don’t miss the virtuoso performances of McPhee who is in the highest peak at the age of 73!

Come out of JR Shinjuku station East exit in front of Alta. Walk right down Shinjuku-dori, pass Mitsukoshi and Isetan department stores. Keep going until you get to the Shinjuku 2-chome intersection. Turn left here and you can find Pit Inn on the right in the basement of the Accord Building.
