Lasse Marhaug。90年代初頭より、いわゆるノルウェー・ノイズ・シーンでもっとも活動的なアーティストとして知られる。演奏家および作曲家として、過去何年もの間に200以上にわたるCD／ヴァイナル／カセット作品を発表、ヨーロッパ、アジア、アメリカなど広範囲に渡る地域でツアーを行ってきた。ソロでの作品に加え、Marhaugは北欧最強との呼び声も高いアヴァン・グループJazkamerの一員であるほか、Nash Kontroll、DEL、Testicle Hazardといったバンド／プロジェクトでも活動を続けており、また現在は活動していないがOrigami Replika、Lasse Marhaug Bandなどでも知られる。ノイズ、実験音楽、即興演奏、ジャズ、ロック、エクストリームなメタルの分野などで幾多のアーティストとコラボレートを行ってきたほか、並行して劇場、演劇、インスタレーション、映像作品などにも楽曲を提供。その手法は多岐に渡り、ギター・ペダルから手製の電気機器、コンピューター、モディファイされたギターまで、いくつかの楽器を演奏するが、しかしもっとも中核を成すのはミキサーである。

ノルウェーの北極圏（真冬に太陽が昇らず真夏に太陽が沈まない北緯66度33分39秒地点より北の地域）生まれ。現在オスロを拠点に活動中。

maranata (norway)

Dag StribergとJon Wesseltoftから成るMaranata。ボルビトマグース（1979年に結成された、アグレッシヴな即興ノイズ・バンドのパイオニア）にも似たそのサウンドは、サックスとギターを用い、即興でフリーなハーシュ・ノイズ演奏によって繰り広げられる。メンバーは両者ともに即興演奏、ノイズ、ブラック・メタルのバックグラウンドを持ち、特にJon Wesseltoftはノルウェイジャン・ブラック・メタル・シーンを初期から支えてきたバンド、Thornsのメンバーとしても知られる。彼ら自身は自分たちの音楽のことを、free improvised snuff noise（即興殺害ノイズ）と呼んでいる。

Lasse Marhaug has since the early 90ies been one of the most active

artists in the so-called Norwegian noise scene. As a performer and

composer he has contributed to well over 200 CD, vinyl and cassette

releases over the years, as well as extensive touring and performing live

in Europe, Asia and America. In addition to his solo work, Marhaug plays

regularly in projects Jazkamer, Nash Kontroll, DEL and Testicle Hazard.

Past projects and bands include Origami Replika and Lasse Marhaug Band. He

has collaborated with several artists in the fields of noise,

experimental, improv, jazz, rock and extreme metal, as well as working

with music and sound for theatre, dance, installations and video. He works

with different kinds of instrumentation; from guitar-pedals and homemade

electronics to computers and modified guitars, but conciders the

mixing-board his main instrument. Marhaug was born in the northern regions

above the Arctic Circle of Norway, but currently lives and works in Oslo.

Maranata is Dag Striberg and Jon Wesseltoft. They play improvised free

harsh noise, played by saxophone and guitar. Their sound is a little like

Borbetomagus. The memebers have experience from improvised music, noise

and black metal (Thorns). Maranata call their music free improvised snuff

noise.
