Jon Cleary & the Absolute Monster Gentlemen
Jon Cleary is a triple threat-with a salty-sweet voice, masterful piano skills, and a knack for coupling infectious grooves with melodic hooks and sharp lyrics. Born in England in 1964, Cleary fell in love with the sounds of American roots music as a child via New Orleans funk and R&B 45s. Moving to New Orleans at 17, he quickly gained respect as a sideman and bandleader. In recent years, he has worked with the likes of Taj Mahal, Bonnie Raitt, BB King, Ryan Adams. (He is also full-timekeyboardist in Raitt's band.)
Jon's band, The Absolute Monster Gentlemen, are New Orleans natives Derwin “Big D” Perkins on guitar, Cornell C. Williams on bass, and Eddie Christmas on drums. Cornell’s deep grooves and Eddie’s hard, funky beat anchor the grooves, while Big D and Jon soar with R&B licks that take the best from island rhythms, jazz, funk and traditional New Orleans soul.

From the Hachiko exit of Shibuya station, turn right of the big Tsutaya and Starbucks. Then turn left on Inokashira Dori which is between Seibu department stores. Keep walking ahead until you get to the koban (police box) at a Y-intersection. Go to the left of the koban and a bit further ahead you'll see the Quattro Building on your left. Club Quattro is on the 5th floor.
