Ben Salter（ベン・ソルター）はオーストラリア・タスマニアの音楽家である。20年近くオーストラリアをはじめ世界中を周り活動してきた。2018年夏、新しいアルバムツアーのために1年振りに来日する。
彼の音楽スタイルは、バラード、インディーロック、アヴァンギャルド、サウンドスケープ、インストルメンタルと多岐に渡る。パフォーマーとしては、ギター、タンバリン、エフェクトペダル等。そのユニークな彼の音楽観と独特のスタイルはJohn Cale、Robert Wyatt、David Byrne、The Velvet Underground、Roy Orbison、The Ink Spots、Low 等にインスパイアされている。
また、多くのオーストラリアやニュージーランドのアーティストとのコラボレーションでその名を知られ、彼らの多くはBen Salterについて彼の世代で最高の音楽家の1人だと語る。
今回の来日ツアーでは東京をはじめ、大阪、神戸、和歌山、山口でのパフォーマンスを予定。

Ben Salter is an Australian songwriter and performer, based in the southern state of Tasmania. He has toured around Australia and the world for nearly 20 years, both solo and as a member of The Wilson Pickers, The Gin Club, Giants of Science, and Hownowmer. He returns to Japan in the summer of 2018 - his second tour there - in support of his new album Back Yourself. 

His records highlight his storytelling, humour, and experimentation with a wide variety of styles, from acoustic ballads to indie rock, to avant garde soundscapes and instrumentals. He travels worldwide armed with a guitar, tambourine, some pedals, and his distinctive, heart-melting voice.

Salter has collaborated with many of Australia and New Zealand’s best known artists, and is regularly cited as one of the best Australian performers and songwriters of his generation. His unique outlook and inimitable musical style is in the tradition of songwriters such as John Cale, Robert Wyatt, and David Byrne, and he draws inspiration from the likes of The Velvet Underground, Roy Orbison, The Inkspots and Low. 

Salter’s summer tour of Japan takes in Osaka, Kobe, Wakayama, Yamaguchi and Tokyo.
