Kazuya Wakabayashi is a Tokyo-based saxophonist and leader of the instrumental band igloo. He contributed saxophone to Boris’s 2022 album Heavy Rocks and has continued to perform with Boris, including live appearances in 2025 and 2026. Wakabayashi’s work spans rock, noise, jazz, improvisation and experimental music. He has performed with THE FOOLS, ZZZoo and other artists, while developing his own approach to the saxophone beyond conventional genre boundaries.
