The bands:

BOARD – the headliner of this show - is a three-piece post punk band that emerged in London and is now based in Nagoya. Their darkish music might be compared to the likes of Joy Division or Interpol. Given the outstanding performance from their last time in ‘the tokyo underground files’ event series with the great stage presence of Ryo Muramatsu in November 2024 (“INFINITY !S.”) as well as their recent new music releases, this is promising to be a fantastic experience not to be missed – songs that start calmly but already with some tension underneath, suddenly erupting, making you let go, lose yourself and get crazy, dancing away the night.

KO-GO NO GORAIKO-Z (神々のゴライコーズ)
Is it funk? Is it rock? Is it punk? I guess KO-GO NO GORAIKO-Z (神々のゴライコーズ)is all of that, mixing those genres to a unique and incredible danceable mix.
This will be their first appearance at ‘the tokyo underground files’!
Their energetic and passionate performance – vocal / drum Great Hashimoto, Guts Komaken on bass and Tadashi Fujiwara on guitar all going wild on stage - a guarantee for a truly exstatic experience, that will certainly “move” you on the dance floor.

LBSTR (LOBSTER) is a five-piece band based in Tokyo and self proclaimed new-generation rock band. After amazing shows at e.g. Shibuya www but also at ‘the tokyo underground files’ in October 2023 (“忘無会”)- which was absolutely amazing - they took a break but are back now stronger than ever and also with new music. Though their music style is very unique, it reminded me in part of the great Fontaines D.C.

BATROICA METAL SUMMER JACKET
Batroica metal summer jacket has also roots in the former band ‘The Taupe’, much beloved by ‘the tokyo underground files’, where they played on the first ever event in November 2017 (“No more nothing”), and you can feel such energy and creativity continued. A unique style of music referred to as neo-pop, I hear influences from a wide range of musical styles as well – trance, post rock/punk … mixed to a really unique extraterrestrial listening and dancing experience.
Very happy to welcome them for their first appearance on ‘the tokyo underground files’.
