CLOSE ENCOUNTER #4 WITH HIROSHI YAMAGUCHI!
Door 7:00pm, Show 7:30pm in Morgan Salon, Daitabashi (near Meidaimae).

A very special CLOSE ENCOUNTER evening with one of Japan's finest, most well-loved, enduring rock musicians!

Hiroshi Yamaguchi (vocals, guitars) was born in Fukuoka. In 1979 he formed the rock band HEATWAVE, and writes the bulk of their songs.

In the 90s Morgan Fisher (who considers them his favourite, most soulful Japanese rock band) played keyboards with them on several singles, albums and tours.


The band have released over 20 albums. The album "1995'' (released that year) includes "Full Moon Evening" which Yamaguchi wrote following the Great Hanshin Earthquake. This song has become a classic and is still sung by many musicians of all ages.



After 44 years, HEATWAVE and Hiroshi are currently actively creating new music. Hiroshi has released several solo albums. He is influenced by Van Morrison, and Irish music in general, and has collaborated with many of their leading artists, including Dolores Keane, Donal Lunny, Sharon Shannon and Liam Ó Maonlaí.


Expect an evening of powerful, soulful music created by a highly talented man and his guitars. Morgan will join in on keyboards on some songs.

ENTRY is 6000 yen, payable at the door (cash only please).

Morgan Salon is the cosy, artistic personal studio of British keyboardist Morgan Fisher (Mott the Hoople, Queen, Yoko Ono, etc). It's just a five-minute walk from Daitabashi Station (only 2 stops by local train from Shinjuku on the Keio Line).

ヴォーカル、ギター。福岡生まれ。
1979年福岡にて、ヒートウェイヴ(HEATWAVE)を結成。ほぼ全曲の作詞、作曲を担当。

90年代、モーガン・フィッシャー（ヒートウェイヴは彼のお気に入りで最もソウルフルな日本のロックバンド）は、数枚のシングル、アルバム、ツアーでバンドのキーボードを演奏した。

ヒートウェイヴは20枚以上のアルバムをリリースしています。 1995年発表のアルバム『1995』には阪神・淡路大震災後に作られた「満月の夕」が収録され、多くのミュージシャン、幅広い世代に現在も歌い継がれている。

44年経った今もヒートウェイヴとヒロシは精力的に新しい音楽を生み出し続けている。ヒロシさんはソロアルバムを何枚もリリースしています。また、ドロレス・キーン、ドーナル・ラニー、シャロン・シャノン、キーラ、リアム・オ・メンリィなど、アイルランドを代表するミュージシャンとの共演も多い。

能豊かな男と彼のギターが生み出す、パワフルでソウルフルな演奏を楽しみましょう。
