自作スプリングフィードバック要塞をコンピュータ制御し、音の濁流によるドラマが脈動する。＃エレクトロアコースティック、＃ミュージックコンクレート、＃ライヴエレクトロニクス、＃ハーシュノイズ、＃フィードバック、etc様々なタグ付けが可能だが、もはや分類不能な音師である。アカデミックな方面でもすごい。

90年代に活動していたノイズユニットC.C.C.C.の創設者であるHiroshi Hasegawaによるプロジェクト。

80年代初頭からヴォイスやパーカッションによる即興演奏活動を開始し、1989年に「大音量による集団即興ノイズ演奏」をコンセプトとしたグループC.C.C.C.を結成。

C.C.C.C.の活動と並行して1993年頃には、アナログシンセサイザーによるソロ演奏ユニットASTROの活動を開始。

以降、作品リリースやライブ活動を精力的に行い、様々なアーティストとのコラボレーションワークも数多く行ってきた。また海外の音楽フェスティバルなどにも度々招聘されている。

2013年からは女性エレクトロニクス奏者Rohcoをメンバーに迎えたデュオ編成となる。

ASTRO is a project by Hiroshi Hasegawa who is the founder of the '90s noise unit, C.C.C.C. He started improvising with voice, percussions from early ‘80s, he formed C.C.C.C. in 1989, the concept of which is “loud, group, noise improvisation”.

Had started as his solo analogue synthesiser project around 1993, ASTRO has had numerous performances (including festivals abroad), releases and collaborations afterwards. Since 2013 it became a duo with a female electronics artist Rohko.
