LUBAO (CARL STONE+ JOSEPH HAMMER)

"Oto-hogushi" at Kissa Sakaiki in Tokyo. The evening features the new unit  LUBAO (Carl Stone +Joseph Hammer. Carl  joins up with his boyhood friend and neighbor Joseph , who is a longtime exemplar and stalwart of the Los Angeles free music scene. Stone and Hammer lived literally within 20 meters of each other all through elementary and junior high schools. But even though their musical interests, such as real-time sampling,  appropriation, and discombobulation, have been closely aligned for many years, it is only in the year 2014 that they first began to collaborate, under the unit name of the street they both grew up on, LUBAO.
