DAICHI HASHIZUME(dr)
He was born in 1990 into a family that ran a lottery in Tatsushina Town, Nagano Prefecture.
Thanks to his music-loving parents, he grew up in a household where records played with great acoustics.
When he was in elementary school, he encountered the film "Love Song for an Angel 2," which sparked his strong interest in black culture.
Realizing that jazz is the ultimate in black music, he became deeply immersed in jazz.
He began teaching himself drums and piano.
When I was in middle school, I would imitate jazz pianist Hank Jones and sit at the piano wearing my father's suit after coming home from school.
At school, he belongs to the Broadcasting Committee.
During lunch breaks, jazz was played for all the students to listen to.
The cultural festival overlapped with Hank Jones's concert in Japan, so I even skipped the first day of the festival...
One day, he encountered jazz pianist Barry Harris performing a piece called "Smoke Sees Your Eyes," and was deeply moved by the overwhelming beauty of its harmonies.
He went on to Shobi Gakuen University, where he could learn the Barry Harris Method.
He studied music theory in earnest in the jazz department.
He was recognized for his talent by Toshiko Kiryu, a university professor and master of classical piano, and graduated as a scholarship student.
While still a student, he met jazz pianist Hiroshi Ota.
He was shocked the moment he saw his performance live and became his apprentice.
Since then, he has served as the drummer for Hiroshi Ota Nitrio, learning the essence of jazz as both master and apprentice.
Currently expanding his activities as a rapper,
he is concerned about the decline of culture and the arts in the SNS era, but he pursues and expresses "beautiful music" against the backdrop of jazz theory and harmony and the groove of black music.
