BIG PINK is a Tokyo indie music event inspired by the atmosphere of Shimokitazawa’s live house scene in the late 2010s.
Named after Music from Big Pink, the event brings together bands connected to Tokyo’s underground and psychedelic rock culture, while also looking toward a new generation of independent music.
The idea came from memories of places like BASEMENT BAR and THREE, where live music, conversation, and community mixed naturally every weekend. Events like “BLOCK PARTY” helped shape that atmosphere — open, casual, and deeply connected to the city’s indie culture.
Alongside the live performances, BIG PINK also explores the surrounding culture of music: zines, scarves, visuals, fashion, and the feeling of discovering bands in small rooms late at night.
Not nostalgia, but continuation.

From the South exit of Shimokitazawa station, walk straight ahead. You'll pass a McDonalds on your left. Keep walking ahead and follow the street as it veers left. You should pass a Family Mart, Club 251, a 7-11, and it is a little further ahead on the right in a basement, next to Basement Bar.
