Takayuki Yagi /pianist

Born in Kyoto .

Studied under Walter Bishop ,Ronnie Mathews,Barry Harris, Norman Simmons, Frank Hewitt, and others in NYC. 

He participated in Artist in Residence in japan and studied under composer Frederick Tillis. Won the Grand Prize in the solo category at the 24th Asakusa Jazz Contest in Japan. Performed with Ben Williams (B) Rodeny Green (D) Jay Anderson (B) Billy Drummond (D) Scott Wendholt (Tp) Ralph Bowen (Ts) on his own recordings. 7virtual Jazz Club's Contest 7th &10th Edition’s finalist held in Italy in 2022,2024.

Currently, playing in own trio, mainly in Tokyo. Pursuing a unique style with bebop and contemporary.
