Film Synopsis

Miho Amari, originally from Yamanashi Prefecture, currently lives in South Korea whilst pursuing a career as a singer.

The film depicts her life journey through music, interwoven with footage of her live performances and singing scenes, as well as her daily life in a foreign country.

The reasons for choosing to emigrate are not solely financial. Each person has a different background—whether it be their life, family, dreams or work.

Through the lens of song, life and the experience of emigration, this film explores the meaning of living across borders.

Director Profile

Shekh Al Mamun

Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 1974.

Moved to South Korea in 1998 whilst a university student.

Became involved in the migrant workers’ human rights movement from 2001.

Began cultural and artistic activities in 2012, starting to make short films.

Currently runs the migrant cultural and arts organisation ‘Asia Media Culture Factory’.
