Masamichi Kinoshita
Born in 1969 in Ono City, Fukui Prefecture. After gaining experience in brass bands and hard rock, he studied music at Tokyo Gakugei University. During this time, he also performed in free jazz, group improvisation, and comedy bands, often with political themes. He has been selected for the Toru Takemitsu Composition Award and the Gen-On Newcomer Award.
Currently, his activities focus on three pillars: composing on commission or in collaboration with various organizations and individuals, planning cutting-edge concerts with the cooperation of outstanding performers, and improvising with electronic equipment used in unconventional ways.
In recent years, he has composed and premiered approximately 20 pieces a year, primarily chamber music. Several of his works and performances have been released on CD and distributed online. He has also recently begun writing children's stories.
Takumi Ikeda is a computer musician and composer. He uses music and sound to interact with others, environments, and time. He also uses these media to define his own place in the real world. To relativize the history of music and the physicality of performance, he explores music production through computer programming and develops performance systems. In addition to works involving live electronics, Ikeda creates music for choirs, notation works for improvisational musicians, and movie soundtracks. Ikeda is active in the noise unit Electric Powered Music with Masamichi Kinoshita and Tomoki Tai, and he performs as an improvisational musician.
