Three leading guitarists meet on stage for the very first time: Ruben Machtelinckx, Frederik Leroux, and Japanese master Tetuzi Akiyama. This encounter is dedicated to improvised music for acoustic guitar.

It marks the starting point of Porous Structures III, the third instalment in a series that explores ever-changing constellations and sound worlds centered around acoustic instruments. The first two releases appeared on the Belgian label Aspen Edities and received international recognition.

Three guitars, three voices, yet one collective sound: the musicians abandon traditional roles to weave a delicate web in which their individual identities dissolve into a shared texture. While the guitars may appear indistinguishable, their interplay generates a layered tension between unity and difference, clarity and complexity.

With this concert, Akiyama, Leroux and Machtelinckx present a unique first meeting—one that also opens the door to the next chapter of Porous Structures.
