About the Host Musician

Yoshiaki Shigehisa (Piano)
Born in Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1954, Shigehisa has built a multi-decade career as pianist, arranger, composer, and producer. A graduate of Ann Music School under jazz pioneer Masahiko Satoh, he began performing professionally around 1975. His versatility spans from jazz essentials to pop hits—he’s worked as a keyboardist, arranger, producer, and composer on numerous recordings and TV commercials, and has collaborated with stars like Yōko Minamino, Hideki Saijō, and Kazumasa Oda.

In 2001, he released the solo album Night Music—a seamless blend of pop sensibility and jazz nuance—followed by MITAKA SKY in 2021 alongside vocalist Tomoko Nozawa, celebrated for its graceful vocal-piano dialogue. Off-stage, Shigehisa is a respected educator, known for his voice and improvisation workshops at MITAKA SKY STUDIO.
