This event is a part of MIMINOIMI - Ambient / Week - 2025.
On this day, we will present a series of performances in the form of a music festival, featuring a diverse range of artists and musicians. The event will take place across two floors within the same building: Nakameguro Koen and Just Another Space, the latter focusing primarily on acoustic performances.
At Koen, the lineup includes Midori Takada, an artist whose groundbreaking work transcends all existing genres and has garnered international acclaim; E.O.U (ambient set), a member of the next-generation rave-trance crew Minna no Kimochi; the legendary Phew, a figure who needs no introduction, teaming up in an improvisational duo with rising experimental vocalist Ayami Suzuki; hofli / Takashi Tsuda, who continues to explore expressions of stillness and subtlety; and Tomotsugu Nakamura, a leading voice in the next wave of ambient music.
Just Another Space will feature a rich program blending classical and traditional Japanese music with experimental sounds. The lineup includes Kazuyuki Shiotaka, a biwa player whose unique artistic range spans from classical gagaku to contemporary music, along with Kosei Fujita, a shakuhachi player who has been collaborating with Shiotaka in recent years. Also appearing are Ato no Mae, a theatrical and experimental sound performance group led by Takako Minekawa and Takahiro Kawaguchi; So Inoue, a dhrupad vocalist preserving the oldest form of classical music from the Indian subcontinent; Aki Fukakusa, formerly of the Far East Family Band, who now explores the ancient Chinese qin-qin instrument in his own distinctive style; Masaaki Aoyama, a komusō shakuhachi performer focusing on overtone-rich sounds; and Takashi Masubuchi, known for his explorations in improvised acoustic guitar.
In addition, a sound installation by sound artist Yengo will be featured throughout the venue’s stairways and corridors.
The day's programming will flow like a gradient—seamlessly blending sound performances, improvisation, ambient, classical music, and traditional Japanese instruments into a unique sonic landscape.
