Kjaer debuted from the British jazz/improv scene and currently works with a variety of groups including Paal Nilssen-Love’s Large Unit and her own trio. Kjaer has a unique tone and liberated style inflluenced by Henry Threadgill, and a smart composer. On the occasion of the 150th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Between Japan and Denmark, Kjaer has invited hyper-koto player Michiyo Yagi and top drummer Nori Tanaka to form a special trio that, in advance of their appearance in Denmark scheduled for this coming summer, will debut at this Shinjuku Pit Inn gig.
