Montreux Jazz Festival Japan 2016 - Day 2

Gilles Peterson presents SONZEIRA Live Band  Mélanie de Biasio Pete Josef 

Highlighted on Brazilian musicians, and headlined by the legendary Caetano Veloso, after 11 years of absence in Japan, will feature with Teresa Cristina. 

Additionally Gilles Peterson will introduce for the first time in Japan Sonzeira Live Band which became popular by the film “Brasil Bam Bam Bam”. 
Under the label of eclecticism, the festival will start with unique and innovatives exclusives collaborations : The classical pianist Francesco Tristano from Luxembourg with the American techno musician Derrick May. And for the first time, the german producer Henrik Schwarz will perform with the jazz pianist Fumio Itabashi and Kuniyuki. 
And the first evening of the Festival will end on the highly awaited japanese touch by Metafive led by Towa Tei, Yukihiro Takahashi (Yellow Magic orchestra), Keigo Oyamada aka Cornelius, Yoshinori Sunahara (Denki Groove), Tomohiko Gondo and Leo Imai. 
New young talented artists from Europe will also play : Melanie de Biasio, from Belgium (PIAS records), Pete Josef from UK (Sonar Kollektiv) and Lulu Gainsbourg (son of Serge Gainsbourg) featuring Ara Starck (daughter of Phillippe Starck) will perform a tribute to Serge Gainsbourg's songs. 
And last but not least, Aki Yashiro, will meet on stage Makoto Kuriya Quintet, for an amazing fusion between Enka ballad and contemporary jazz.
