Tokuhisa William is one of Tokyo's most amazing vocal stylists, with a mind-boggling range of techniques at his disposal: he can sound like any number of musical instruments, for example. He can conjure up the sound of pure noise, malfunctioning machinery, animals, you name it! And all with just his voice: no effects, no computer interface... just the human voice. He is surely one of the very finest practitioners of throat-singing you'll find this side of Tuva and Mongolia, and his Mongolian jew's harp playing is sublime. A man of many talents! Vocalist and dancer Meri Nikula, who divides her time between Tokyo and various European locales, is a performer of great depth and immediacy, an accomplished improvisor who always brings a focussed intensity and a sparkle to the musical moment. Samm Bennett, a fixture on the Tokyo scene as a solo performer and member of various ensembles, is a singer, songwriter, percussionist and player of various unusual "neo-primitive" instruments such as diddley bow, electric talking drum, mouthbow, stick dulcimer, etc. Showing up at every gig he does with something different to play and say, he's always surprising, engaging and ready for sonic action!
