Michiganized is a Tokyo-based indie music project founded by Japanese bassist and songwriter Yumi Aoi in 2019.
Influenced by new wave, shoegaze, electronica, and 1990s pop music, Michiganized crafts dreamy, nostalgic soundscapes while maintaining a unique contemporary edge.
The project's live performances take various forms, from traditional band setups to electronic-oriented shows, reflecting a free and flexible artistic approach.
On June 5, Michiganized will take the stage with a full band, bringing its songs to life in a dynamic live setting. Joining the bill are a number of exciting new shoegaze bands from Japan's emerging alternative music scene.
