HIROSHI ABE (g) 

Born in Kanagawa Prefecture. Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Ukulele player

Started working as a professional guitarist at

the age of 15.

At the age of

22, he moved to the United States and spent six months listening to local music, mainly in California. After returning to Japan, he expanded his field of work and participated in various fields such as studios, TV recordings, artist support, and musicals.

It was around that time that he began to work on

instrument tuning, and he began repairing instruments with the desire to "always play instruments with good tuning", which led him to make his own instruments.

In terms of performance, he had many opportunities to come into contact with "traditional jazz" through his performance work at amusement parks and other places, and as he researched his roots, he began to feel the charm of "traditional jazz" and "live guitar". Around 1993, when he was about to turn 40, he decided to "go with a live guitar" as the direction of his performance, and studied the style of live guitar and banjo in the 1920s~40s, and

has continued to this

day.

He is highly regarded

in the classical industry for his traditional live guitar and banjo, and has participated in orchestras such as the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Yomiuri Symphony Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic

Orchestra

, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, and Osaka Philharmonic

Orchestra. He has also released his own CDs.

In 2009, he started "Hiroshi Abe & Roaring 20's Jazz Orchestra" led by Hiroshi Abe, and in 2014, he started "Hiroshi Abe & His Orchestra".

He is focusing on

traditional jazz.
