Haruhito Godo(ts)、Ueda Michihisa (p) 、Ryota Sato(b)

On March 21, Adirondack Café proudly presents the Haruhito Godo Trio, featuring Haruhito Godo on tenor saxophone, Michihisa Ueda on piano, and Ryota Sato on bass. This distinctive ensemble brings together three deeply expressive musicians for an evening of refined, intimate, and highly interactive jazz.

At the forefront is Haruhito Godo, whose tenor saxophone sound is both warm and incisive. His phrasing reflects a deep understanding of the jazz tradition while embracing a modern sensibility. Rather than relying on sheer intensity, Godo shapes each solo with narrative clarity — developing motifs, sculpting dynamics, and allowing space to speak as powerfully as sound. His tone carries emotional weight, moving effortlessly between lyrical tenderness and bold improvisational statements.

Pianist Michihisa Ueda provides harmonic depth and rhythmic elasticity. His comping is responsive and textural, creating a living canvas beneath the saxophone lines. Whether unfolding rich reharmonizations or engaging in subtle counterpoint, Ueda listens closely and reacts in real time, elevating the trio’s conversational interplay.

On bass, Ryota Sato anchors the ensemble with resonance and precision. His lines are melodic yet grounded, offering both structural clarity and forward motion. In a trio setting without drums, the bass takes on expanded responsibility — shaping pulse, contour, and momentum with nuance and authority.

Together, this saxophone–piano–bass configuration creates a chamber-like jazz atmosphere: transparent, spacious, and intensely communicative. Every note matters. Every silence breathes. The absence of drums allows the trio to explore delicate dynamic gradations and intricate rhythmic dialogue that can only emerge in such an exposed setting.

Adirondack Café’s listening-room acoustics provide the ideal environment for this musical exchange. On March 21, expect an evening of sophisticated swing, lyrical ballads, and adventurous improvisation — music that unfolds organically and rewards attentive ears.

Seats are limited. Join us for a night where tone, space, and interaction converge in pure trio artistry.
