Formed in 1979/Participated in the 1980 compilation “Toshi Tsushin”
/Released debut album “NON baNd” in 1982/Reformed in 1999 after an extended hiatus /“NON baNd” reissued by German label TAL in 2017 /Released “NON BAND II” in 2021

The music of NON BAND followed a similar trajectory, evolving from their uncompromisingly original post-punk sound at their formation into a more earthy and rich dance music. It was a delightful surprise when “Duncan Dancin'” from their first album was chosen by Tyler, The Creator as the pre-show background music for the Japan dates of his tour in September this year. This epitomises the magic of music, showing how music, beats, and the soul connect us across space and time.

Known as one of Tokyo's finest independent rock bands.
Their combination of dynamic rhythm figures and diverse songwriting styles has earned them a strong fan base and attracted attention from many musicians.
They have played in the US at Olympia's Yo Yo a Go Go festival twice (1999 & 2001) and even toured the West Coast with Mt. Eerie in the fall of 2003 & 2007.
