Pianist, trumpeter, arranger and composer.

Thomas explores the free spaces of improvisation and groove through a wide range of jazz and improvised music.

He tours regularly with his trio Dig dug dug with double bassist Bänz Oester and drummer Samuel Dühsler (first album released in 2022), as well as playing solo piano (2 albums). His musical research has led him to collaborate with improvised music and free jazz artists, notably in a trio with drummer Nicolas Field and saxophonist John Dikeman, and with the electroacoustic trio Re-Ghoster (with Nicolas Field and Valerio Tricoli), and in an extended version with Nate Wooley and Fritz Welch.)

Active in Japan since 2018, Thomas regularly collaborates with many Japanese artists. Thomas has spent 6 months in Japan in 2023, during which time he presented around fifty concerts throughout the country.

Thomas Florin has performed with artists such as Nate Wooley, Fritz Welch, Hans Koch, Jerome Noetinger, Akira Sakata, Yasuhiro Yoshigaki, Shinpei Ruike, Valerio Tricoli, Nicolas Field, Jasper Stadhouders, Keigo Iwami, Bjørnar Habbestad, Matthieu Michel, Philippe Sellam, Shems Bendali, Leon Phal. Since 2020, Thomas Florin has been a member of Geneva's Fanfareduloup collective as pianist, trumpet player and arranger, for a whole series of creations, and is artistic director of the "Let's Play" video game show at the Alhambra in Geneva in January 2022.

ジャズや即興音楽の幅広いジャンルを通して、即興とグルーヴの自由な空間を探求している。
ダブルベースのベンツ・オスターとドラマーのサミュエル・デュースラーと共にトリオ「Dig dug dug」を結成。また、ソロピアノとしても2枚のアルバムをリリース。音楽的探求心に基づき、即興音楽やフリージャズのアーティストとのコラボレーションも積極的に行っている。特に、ドラマーのニコラス・フィールドとサックス奏者のジョン・ディケマンとのトリオ、エレクトロアコースティック・トリオ「Re-Ghoster」、そしてネイト・ウーリーとフリッツ・ウェルチとのエクステンデッド・バージョンでの共演が有名。
2018年から日本で活動し、多くの日本人アーティストと定期的にコラボレーション。2023年には6ヶ月間日本に滞在し、全国で約50回のコンサートを行う。
2020年以降、ジュネーブの音楽集団「ファンファレデュループ」のメンバーとして、ピアニスト、トランペット奏者、アレンジャーとして数々の作品に携わる。また、2022年1月にはジュネーブのアルハンブラ宮殿で開催されるビデオゲームショー「Let’s Play」の芸術監督を務める。

He excels at performing in a primitive and materialistic way by adding his own desires in a minimal and straightforward way to the inherent qualities of the guitar.
He delicately, and sometimes boldly, controls the volume of sounds, from the microscopic to the macroscopic, in an attempt to digitalize the body.

ギターという楽器の持つ特質に、自身の欲求をミニマルかつストレートな形で加えていくことによる、原始的で即物的な意味合いを含んだ演奏を得意とする。
ミクロからマクロに至る音量を、繊細に、ときには大胆にコントロールし、身体の電子化を試みる。
