 Yutaka Yoshida 

Born in Hofu City, Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1975. Studied jazz playing with Hideaki Kanazawa and classical playing with Hiroshi Ota and Hiroaki Sagawa. While studying at the University of Tsukuba, he made his professional debut as a trio of Kazuhiro Yokoshima (p). After graduating, he worked as a teacher in Hokkaido for a while, but returned to the jazz scene due to his passion for music. In 2004, he participated in the Yokohama Jazz Promenade Competition with the Masai Umino (p) Trio, and won the Grand Prix and the Yokohama Citizen Award. In 2016, he released a duo album "DANRO" with Masai Unno. Currently, he is active mainly in the Kanto region, with Masai Umino (p), trio, Kakuji Nakajima (p), trio, Itsumi Komano (tb), quartet, Hideo Oyama (as) group, THE BON BONES, Hiroshi Murakami (ds) trio, Wataru Omura (ds) trio, Jun Satsuma (g) trio, and MALTA (sax) group. In addition, he has been actively visiting schools nationwide (especially high schools and comprehensive support schools) and community exchange activities, visiting various parts of the country, and since 2014, he has been holding an art appreciation event every year at the request of the Yamaguchi Prefectural High School Cultural Federation to convey the charm and joy of jazz to local students. In addition to performing, in 2010, he wrote a double bass instruction book for junior high and high school students (Doremi Publishing Co., Ltd.), and since then he has worked on three instructional books that have been well received by students.
