Taizo HIDA, who wrote the new piano solo piece, has a style of composition that is extremely quiet and minimizes the movement of sound. Recently, his piano works have been released on CD, and his string quartet was featured in "Japanese Composition 2020-2022" published by the Suntory Foundation for the Arts, and he has suddenly attracted attention. This time, a new work that opens up a new world of HIDA's even more abridged works will be performed. It also serves as a commemoration of the CD release of Taizo HIDA's works.
KINOSHITA's "Study for Four-Part Harmony" is based on Bach's chorale collection, and by layering the play of sine waves created by mathematically converting it and the chorale derived from it, it fundamentally questions what voices are and what counterpoint is. The final piece by Kinoshita will be an improvisation, in which three layers will be assigned completely different tempos, and the basic idea is to operate them manually by one person, which will then be transformed in various ways by improvisation on the day. It will be extremely loud (this concert is designed so that the volume gradually increases). Through these pieces, we hope to once again shed light on the unknown possibilities of music with as much precision as possible.
