Doublebass meets hacked toys and lofi electro acustic

In 2009, ige*timer - formed by double bass and electronics player Klaus Janek and DIY creator and percussionist Simon Berz - toured the USA documenting their concerts on live sound recordings. The outcome of these recordings is their new LP „ice cold pop“.

Now the duo heads to Japan and the West Coast USA to draw inspiration from cities, landscapes and local communities to provide a starting point for real-time composed sound. The forthcoming Japanese concerts will focus on intercultural exchange between ige*timer and around 10 guest musicians. In US, beside concerts in clubs, studios and living rooms, ige*timer is searching for inspirational situations in urban or rural settings, to feed back into their improvisations. Equipped with a portable sound system, performances can be happen anywhere, recorded onto video by Michelle Ettlin, whose impressions of last year‘s tour were published in the IPS photo-booklet and artwork.
