Minyen Hsieh is a highly regarded, award-winning Taiwanese saxophonist. The Taipei native, born in 1981, started to perform professionally at the age of 19, and received his Master degree from the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels on 2010. His strong improvisation skills and rich tone has made him a coveted player in several genres varying from: jazz, rock, folk, hip-hop, electronic to avant-garde. He won the Taichung Saxophone Competition in 2012, 2 times Golden Melody Awards (Grammy Awards in Chinese speaking world) and 5 times Golden Indie Music Award with His solo& co-leading albums. Besides Taiwan, he also tour frequently in Japan, Hong Kong, South-East Asia and west Europe.

Sumire Kuribayashi is an established presence in Japan’s jazz scene and abroad, winning over audiences across the globe with her lyrical, eloquent piano playing. She has released five albums under her name and toured her music across Japan and Europe to widespread acclaim. Sumire graduated from the Jazz & Pops course at Shobi University in Saitama, Japan, by which point she had already established a performing career in Tokyo. In 2014 Sumire release her debut album ‘Toys’ on Japanese jazz label Somethin’ Cool Records and performed at Blue Note Tokyo. Her debut album was picked up by prestigious jazz magazines and awarded the prestigious ‘New Star’ award at the Jazz Life Disc Grand Prix 2014, establishing Sumire a reputation as a rising star with a unique voice in the Japanese music industry. Sumire released her second trio album, ‘Travelin’, in 2015. This album was reviewed by the Italian jazz magazine Jazz Convention who wrote: “belonging to the young generation of the Japanese jazz scene, Kuribayashi has become in the last few years one of the most appreciated pianists both for her noteworthy creative qualities and the remarkable storytelling that crosses the textures of her music.” In 2017 she collaborated with legendary Japanese bassist Hideaki Kanazawa to release an acclaimed duo album ‘Nijuso’ through Roving Spirits Records. In 2018 Sumire released her latest two albums back to back - ’Pieces of Color’, a collection of large ensemble compositions featuring 11 of Japan’s top jazz musicians, and ‘The Story Behind’, an intimate piano trio album - to critical acclaim, taking her to the face of Japan’s prestigious Jazz Life Magazine in April 2018. Later in 2018 she performed in London with Jason Yarde, Mark Mondesir and Hideaki Kanazawa and in Andrea, Italy. Sumire brings a distinctive voice as a composer and improvisor on each of her albums, synthesising a broad musical background and a deep respect for the great predecessors in jazz.

市野元彦 (Morohiko Ichino) (Guitarist, Composer)

Tokyo-based guitarist/composer MOTOHIKO ICHINO graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1999, where he studied harmony and improvisation with Mick Goodrick, Bret Willmott and Tony Gaboury.
As a bandleader, He has released “Sketches” (Ammonite Musique – 2007) and “Time Flows (like water)” (BounDEE – 2008), featuring his own compositions. He currently leads a five-piece band ‘rabbitoo’ (with Daisuke Fujiwara, Koichi Sato, Hiroki Chiba and Noritaka Tanaka), and has released the band’s debut album “national anthem of unknown country” (SONG X JAZZ – 2014). This album is also released all over Europe from naïve records.
In addition to ‘rabbitoo’, he leads ‘Time Flows’ (with Kenta Tsugami, Kosuke Ochiai and Akira Sotoyama), a quartet with focus on the improvisational aspect of music.
Besides playing his music as a leader, he was featured on various groups and recordings including groups led by Ryosuke Hashizume, Takeshi Shibuya, and many others. As a sideman, he recorded with Ryosuke Hashizume, Taiichi Kamimura, Ben Monder, Drew Gress and Take Toriyama, and was also a guest performer on John Stowell’s Japan tour.

飯田雅春 (Masaharu Iida) (Bassist, Composer, Producer)

Born in 1969, glow up in Ishikawa prifecture, Tokyo-based bassist/composer/producer MASAHARU IIDA. At the student of Waseda University, he start bass as professional and he plays not only Jazz, his interests are Tango, Bu-to, Poetly and so many. From 1997 to 1999 toured at Buenos Aires, Thai and Vietnum with Tango Orchestra band and Koichi Hiroki's band. On his career played with Koichi Hiroki, Tetsu Saito, Mikinori Fujiwara, Rod Williams, RYUICHI SAKAMOTO, Shuntaro Tanikawa, Kensaku Tanikawa, Kazuko Habu, Shinzawa Kenichiro, Haru Tanaka, Shuji Narikawa and so many.
