When Los Angeles rock band Falling Doves first toured Japan, they encountered a whole new type of live experience…one that they say provided a kick in the ass. Those experiences playing livehouses across the country taught the group just how to make a live show, a skill they’ve used to create an electrifying performance. After a few years away, Falling Doves are ready to bring a fresh wave of electric energy to Japan for a nationwide tour in 2023, starting with this performance at Shibuya's Ruby Room.
Bridging the gap between British rock and Sunset Strip swagger, Falling Doves have developed a reputation for putting on a stadium-ready show in any space since forming in 2013. Comprised of Christopher Leyva, Mike Dorsey and Greg Smith, the band has received acclaim from the likes of The Rembrandt’s Phil Solemn, Stone Temple Pilots’ Scott Weiland and The Beatles’ Pete Best, among many more. Fitting, as they carry on the high-energy spirit of rock ‘n’ roll for a new era.
After being sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic during the last few years, Falling Doves returned to the road as soon as they could to bring their rock spectacle to the world. They completed successful U.S. and European tours in 2022, and are ready to take it even further this year, including with this jaunt through Japan, where they’ll show fans just how fine-tuned their live show has become.
Directions: From Hachiko Crossing in front of Shibuya station, go left up Dogenzaka street. Turn right in front of Shibuya 109. Take the first left (after a musical instrument store). Then take the first right at the brick building and go up the hill (not the stairs). Find Ruby Room on the second floor on your right, above a restaurant, before a carpark.
