ビデオ・デイはポップとフォーク、エレクトロニカのブレンドです。メルボルンでうまれ、最近はブルックリンやニューヨークに住んでいて、ウィリアムズバーグの DIYシーンに浸りきっています。彼らはグラスドアー DIYミュージックアートスペースにキャンプをはり、ショーをし、そして偵察のミッションをはたしています。そしてたいてい、イーストビレッジのサイドウォーク・カフェ—ジェフ・バークレイやレジーナ・スペクターなどといったアーティストのスタートポイントとなった場所でフィーチャーされています。

このデュオの音楽のルーツは、ビートルズやポリスといった偉大なクラシック・ソングライターたちに基づき、彼らのより最近の興味である日本のエレクトロニック・アーティスト、コーネリアスや坂本龍一（イエロー・マジック・オーケストラ）と混ざり合ったものです。

フロントマンのジョシュアはフィルム・アートスクール中退ののち、即興演奏とメルボルンのフリー・ジャズを学び、その後ポップ／ロック音楽に転向しました。彼はアンダーグラウンド・パンク・アートバンドのニア・ユア・ハウスの中心メンバーであり、デュークス・オブ・ウィンザーやジャクソン・ジャクソン、マーティン・マーティーニなどとともに演奏してきました。またグッド・ヴァイブレーション・フェスティバルなどのフェスティバルや、コーナー・ホテル、トフ・イン・タウン、ザ・イブリン、ベネッツ・レーンなどといったメルボルンの主要なライブハウスでプレイしています。

ビデオ・デイは今後いくつかのショーをニューヨークの DIY and Antifolk シーンでプレイし、ロンドン、ベルリンそして東京にやってきます。世界が彼らをまっている！

Video Day are a blend of pop, folk, rock and electronica. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, they are currently living in Brooklyn, New York soaking up the Williamsburg DIY scene. They've set up camp at The Glass Door, a DIY music/art space, playing shows and being on a reconnaissance mission. They've featured regularly at the Sidewalk Cafe in the East Village, a venue that has been the starting point for artists such as Jeff Buckley and Regina Spektor.

The duo's musical roots are founded in the classic songwriting craft of masters such as the Beatles and the Police, fused with their more recent interest in new and old Japanese electronic artists, like Cornelius and Ryuichi Sakamoto (Yellow Magic Orchestra).

After dropping out of film/art school, frontman Joshua studied improvisation and figured heavily in Melbourne's free Jazz scene before making the switch to pop and rock. He was one of the founding members of underground art-punk quintet Near Your House, has had his music played alongside Dukes of Windsor, Jackson Jackson and Martin Martini, and played at the Good Vibrations Festival, Corner Hotel, Toff in Town, The Evelyn, Bennett's Lane and other venues and festivals.

Video Day are playing a few more shows in the DIY and Antifolk scenes in NYC before heading to London, Berlin and Tokyo. The world awaits them.
