■■ MORGAN FISHER: MOTT THE HOOPLE 2018 Reunion Tour: Preview Concert and Talk Show

Open: 6.30pm. Showtime: 7:00pm to 9.30pm approx.
*** RESERVATION BY EMAIL IS SUGGESTED (see below)

British keyboardist Morgan Fisher (ex-Mott the Hoople, Queen, Yoko Ono, etc.) is delighted to announce that in June and July this year, Mott the Hoople - the Mark II, post-Bowie/Dudes lineup - will perform major concerts in Europe for the first time since 1974. Original members Ian Hunter (vocal, gtr, pno), Ariel Bender (gtr) and Morgan Fisher (piano) will be joined by members of Ian’s Rant Band. They will play songs from their last studio album “The Hoople” (some never performed live) as well other hits and rare tracks.

As a special preview of the tour, for Mott lovers in Japan who cannot make it to Europe, Morgan will play a solo concert in the intimate surroundings of his own Morgan Salon home studio. Mott songs will of course be featured, and Morgan will talk about his career with Mott, especially related to the two albums he played on, “The Hoople” and “Live”. He will show rare videos of the band, including previous reunion shows, and performances in collaboration with Mick Ronson, David Bowie, members of Queen and Def Leppard, etc.

A great night for celebrating the only band David Bowie produced apart from Lou Reed and Iggy Pop. Bowie composed Mott’s biggest hit, the classic “ All The Young Dudes”, which along with their several other memorable hits ensures that their appeal is still ongoing and relevant. Morgan is very hopeful that Mott will at some point extend their reunion tour to the US and Japan!

*** COMPLIMENTARY WINE, TEA & SNACKS will be served during the interval.

Entry is 3000 yen with reservation, 3500 yen without reservation, payable at the door.

The location is a five-minute walk from Daitabashi Station
(just two stops from Shinjuku on the Keio Line).
Address: 2-2-4 Izumi, Suginami-ku, Tokyo 168-0063

Details

Just two stops from Shinjuku on the Keio Line, Morgan Salon is the personal music/art studio of Morgan Fisher, a resident of Tokyo since 1985. Morgan is a British keyboard player and has played with many well-known bands since the 70's, including Mott the Hoople and Queen, and Japanese artists Yoko Ono, Haruomi Hosono, Yellow Monkey, The Boom, Kina Shoukichi and others. From 2003 to 2013 he performed a series of 100 solo ambient improv shows at Superdeluxe (Nishi-Azabu), featuring his collection of vintage analog keyboards and projections of his abstract light paintings. In 2013 he began a new series of solo concerts in his studio. He also invites other musicians and artists to give performances there, in the spirit of the salons of Paris in the 20's, or the lofts of New York in the 60's.
