Motohiko Ichino -  guitarrist, composer


Tokyo-based guitarist/composer MOTOHIKO ICHINO graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1999, where he studied harmony and improvisation with Mick Goodrick, Bret Willmott and Tony Gaboury.


As a bandleader, He has released “Sketches” (Ammonite Musique – 2007) and “Time Flows (like water)”(BounDEE – 2008), featuring his own compositions. He currently leads a five-piece band ‘rabbitoo’ (with Daisuke Fujiwara, Koichi Sato, Hiroki Chiba and Noritaka Tanaka), and has released the band’s debut album “national anthem of unknown country” (SONG X JAZZ – 2014) . This album is also released all over Europe from naïve records.


In addition to ‘rabbitoo’, he leads ‘Time Flows’ (with Akira Sotoyama and Kenta Tsugami), ‘toy boat’ (with Akira Sotoyama and Hiroki Chiba), and ‘PM8:00′ (with Hiroaki Mizutani and Masahiro Yamamoto) with focus on music in the trio format.


Besides playing his music as a leader, he was featured on various groups and recordings including groups led by Ryosuke Hashizume,Takeshi Shibuya, and many others.  As a sideman, he recorded with Ryosuke Hashizume, Taiichi Kamimura, Ben Monder, Drew Gress and Take Toriyama, and was also a guest performer on John Stowell’s Japan tour. 



Ryo Noritake : Drums


Born and raised in Nagoya, Japan.
After graduating from Koyo Conservatory in Nagoya, Ryo moved to Boston in 2005 to attend Berklee College of Music. While in Boston, he met great mentors..great Hal Crook, great Ian Froman and great Bob Gullotti. They influenced him in so many ways.
Following his graduation from Berklee with summa cum laude (B.M. 2008), Ryo worked as a staff accompanist at Berklee’s voice department and piano department for a year.
On September 2009, he moved to NY area to attend William Paterson University to pursue his Master’s degree in Jazz performance. (M.M. 2011) After a brief professional career in NY, he moved back to Nagoya on 2011.
