Soon after he met Masabumi Kikuchi and discovered his music and art, and influenced by his mastery art forms.

September 2008, Takashi left New York and moved to Tokyo, Japan. Takashi became a member of Terumasa Hino Quartet for 6 years since March 2010. Currently he works for numerous regular band and projects such as Kosuke Mine Quartet, Tamaya Honda Trio, Michiyo Yagi Trio etc.

Takashi has been performed such festivals as Montreux in Switzerland, Tokyo Jazz, Wangaratta, Brisbane in Australia, Mores Festival in Germany etc.

Francesca Han (pf)

Pianist Francesca Han’s music captures both the subtle affectivity of classical music and the uninhibited effusiveness of rock. Having studied both, she has now developed an approach to jazz that leaves a foot planted in tradition while reaching for unique expression.

After achieving rapid success in her native Korea, she was encouraged to move to New York City in 2004. There she received her master’s degree in jazz performance from Queens College under the tutelage of pianists David Berkman and Bruch Barth, trumpeter and arranger Michael Mossman, and saxophonist Antonio Hart. She also studied with Jason Moran and Ralph Alessi. During her 8 years in NY she performed with various jazz groups in many different venues (Dizzy's Club Jazz at Lincoln Center, 92nd Street Y, Kitano, Sofia, Garage, fatcat, Smalls, Cleopatra's...) as well as at international jazz festivals, like Jarasum Jazz Festival, Taichung Jazz Festival, Penang Jazz Festival.

Her performance with the quartet Jayu at Jamaica Center has won critical claim by New York Daily News for its blend of jazz and traditional Korean music.

Since her eponymous debut album “Francesca Han" (M.M. Records) in 2009, Francesca’s playing is characterized by an intimacy that transcends musical boundaries.

In 2012 she released her NewYork trio-quartet album "Illusion" and her first solo piano album "Ascetic"(Audioguy).

The duo concerts she had in Seoul with trumpeter Alex Sipiagin have been recorded and released in 2014 (Audioguy)

In 2015 Francesca released special album “Blue Suns" (ILIL record)- free jazz improvisation trio- Avant Trio, Kim Oki/sax, Kim SungBae/bass.

She also released another album “ICARUS" (Audioguy) of her new contemporary originals with Korean trio, Lee SoonYong/bass, Shin Dongjin/drums.

Since January 2015 Francesca lives in Tokyo, Japan.

"Francesca explores the rich jazz tradition in her search for ways to stretch the language. Her debut CD, Francesca Han, is a broad sweep of expression that ties the work of the masters to her own artistry."

- Jacob Teichroew, www.jazz.about.com

“After only two recordings, Han already sounds like the finished article. Illusion is the work of a mature, intuitive and daring musician, and one undoubtedly deserving of greater recognition." - Ian Patterson, All About Jazz

“On Blue SunsThe Avant Trio strikes a fine balance between form and freedom, though even when the reins are at their loosest there's a celebratory feel about the music. An impressive collaborative effort." – Ian Patterson, All About Jazz

“The bold definition of Han's compositions and the rhythmic and melodic twists and turns allow plenty of room for individual and collective improvisation. Hopefully this trio will continue its journey, as its intuitive, risk-taking spirit—within clear parameters—renders sparkling, exhilarating music." – Ian Patterson, All About Jazz
