Artist information:

Dick El Demasiado

Born in the Netherlands. Made his name as a media artist in the Netherlands by producing TV/radio shows and founding an artist group called "Institute for Affordable Lunacy." Released first album "No Nos Dejamos Afeitar" in 2003. One of its songs, "La Cebolla" was included in "Coconut FM", an album compiled by Senor Coconut, and was introduced in its liner notes as "Lee Perry channeling with Tom Ze." Released "Pero Peinamos Gratis" in 2004, "Al Perdido Ganado" in 2005. Fourth album "Sin Pues Nada" was released in 2006, gaining wide-spread attention in Japan. Performed in Sonar Festival in Barcelona the same year. Released fifth album "Mi Tu" in 2008. An album compiled in Japan by utakata records is to be released in July 2009.

Space Ponch

Constance Towers, the precursor of Space Ponch, was formed by Yuichi Kishino, Mint Lee and Hibiki Tokiwa in 1984 and was joined by Kimitaka Matsumae of Oshirikajirimushi afterwards. They frequently performed at Nylon 100%. Since the band gradually shifted to vocal songs, they revived their earlier techno sound and changed the band's name to Space Ponch in the late 1990s. They released "The World Shopping with Space Ponch" from Toys Factory, the American edition of which was released through Jim O'Rourke's label within Drag City.

OORUTAICHI

Solo act of Taichi Moriguchi, who is involved in various units and sessions such as Urichinpangoon. In order to crystallize the many influences he received from artists such as the Doors and the Residents, he embarked on a musical career in 1999 with the cassette album “?”, which was improvised and multi-tracked by him alone using a 4-track MTR. His free-wheeling melodic talent which had been developing in his unconsciousness and his improvisational non-linguistic singing were set off by the “pathos” of dancehall reggae. This led to a style that layered vocals on top of programmed tracks. In 2007 he released album “Drifting my folklore.” Recently he has remixed songs of artists such as Shugo Tokumaru and UA (with Urichipangoon). His latest release is a mix CD called “Jurasy Human” from Honcho Sounds. He was opening act for Juana Molina during his US tour this spring and is currently continuing his quest for previously unheard-of, super-personal all-continental music.
