Adam Smith's Music World featuring Chiaqui

Details

Version 2.2 of Adam Smith's Concept is ready for beta-testing, and I invite everyone to hear us work out the bugs. The updated version includes Superfunktion alumnus Kai Ruthrof on keys, Dan Torigoe on drums (Japan's "Pretty" Purdie!!!) and his old buddy Taka walking the electric bass.

These pro-level cats are going to accompany on extended explorations of the beautiful changes and rhythms of challenging tunes by Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway, Herbie Hancock, Jimi Hendrix and Sting. If you're a musican and can guess which tunes I mean, send me an email.

Because I like women and have a sensitive side, we're also going to be serve as the backing band for a set of standards by Chiaqui Jomoto, the best Chibanese jazz vocalist you never heard. I know Chiba seems out of the way for most folks, but it's only 25 minutes from Tokyo Station on the Yokosuka line.

House of Blues Tsuki is one of the best kept secrets in Chiba. ¥1000 gets you in, but the drinks are cheap, the New Orleans style food is great, staff is attractive and friendly, and the outdoor tables are perfect for the summer. They've also got a DJ booth but I haven't found a DJ so if you've got some rare-groove vinyl, bring it!
