Anla Courtis
Born in 1972 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Founding member of the experimental psychedelic rock band Reynols. Courtis has more than 200 solo releases and collaborations on labels worldwide. He has also composed music for films, installations and has conducted music workshops in Europe, Japan, New Zealand, USA and LatinAmerica. His music always has strong experimental sense and usually based on high-skilled techniques of prepared sound, tape manipulations, processing of field recordings, live electronics, objects, cymbals, synthesizers, computer tools, playing traditional (both acoustic and electric) instruments as well as self-built, strange and unusual instruments (eg. unstringed guitar). He has toured extensively in Japan, Europe, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America and even near the North Pole (!). Courtis has collaborated live and in studio with musicians like: Pauline Oliveros, Lee Ranaldo, Jim O’Rourke, Eddie Prevost (AMM), RLW (P16.D4), Phill Niblock, BJ Nilsen, Daniel Menche, Yoshimi, Otomo Yoshihide, Makoto Kawabata, Nihilist Spasm Band, KK Null, The New Blockaders, Tabata, Masami Kawaguchi, Mats Gustafsson, L.A.F.M.S., Seiichi Yamamoto, Tetuzi Akiyama, Lasse Marhaug, Machinefabriek, Günter Müller, Campbell Kneale, Norbert Moslang (Voice Crack), Zbigniew Karkowski, Damo Suzuki (Can), Chris Corsano, John Oswald, Rick Bishop (Sun City Girls) and many many many more.
