Latin Music Festival "ANIMATE!"
Havana D'Primera, Paula Lima, EDDY-K
At last Tokyo gets a Latin music and dance festival to match its status as one the world's most important cultural centers! With five hours of top class entertainment, Animate seeks to break through the genre barriers separating the diverse musical and dance forms in Latin America.
Experience a wide panorama of today' s Latin culture. See how the blending of diverse elements inspires artists to take their music to a higher level, offering proof that music really does have a living and breathing existence.
Animate fulfills a desire to stage a richer mix of Latin music in one event while bringing the festival excitement of Fukuoka' s Isla de Salsa to Tokyo, as requested by so many fans. Brazilian cultural promoter Tupiniquim Entertainment joins Tiempo Iberoamericano as joint organizer of
this festival bringing together 3 stellar acts from overseas and an array of thrilling dance performances.
Moving from a standalone Tokyo concert to a multi-genre festival is the culmination of a process that started in 2002 with the launch of the ¡Vivela! Salsa Tour. The tour is an annual nationwide showcase of the best names in Latin music that helps introduce cultural diversity throughout Japan. The tour is itself an extension of Tiempo Iberoamericano' s efforts to bring top class acts to Fukuoka each summer for Japan' s largest Latin festival, Isla de Salsa.
Tiempo Iberoamericano has been providing fresh perspectives on Latin culture in Japan since 1997 as it seeks to facilitate better communication between people and peoples, drawing on the diverse cultural riches of Spain, Portugal and the countries of Latin America.
