Tokyo-based Saxophonist / Composer Akihiro Yoshimoto graduated from Berklee College of Music  in 2006, studied with George Garzone, Joe Lovano, Frank Tiberi.

He won an excellent prize in the yokohama jazz competition 2007.

As a composer, he has received "FINALIST AWARD" at the 18th USA Songwriting Competition 2013.

also his song was chosen as a finalist in the “International Songwriting Competition 2014".

As a bandleader, He has released, "Blending Tone" (2012) , “Moving Color" (2015) and "Oxymoron" (2017) also his playing was featured on various groups and recordings including Aaron Choulai Quintet, Junko Onishi Sextet, Kei Kobayashi Quintet, and many others.

Currently, he has joined Tokyo’s jazz scene  at various jazz clubs and appearances at jazz festivals including Wangaratta Jazz Festival 2010, Tokyo Jazz 2009, NHK FM Radio 2011-2017, Yokohama Jazz Promenade 2015-2018.

In 2014 he played with Diane Schuur Group at Takatsuki Jazz Festival, Japan.

In 2018 he played with Billy Childs Quartet at Blue Note Tokyo, Japan, also he played with Takuya Kuroda Group, Martha Kato Project, Miho Hazama Big Band and Miki Hirose Big Band in Tokyo.
